PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This Unit Standard forms part of the National Certificate in Auctioneering Support. It would be useful to people working in the Auctioneering industry or in any industry where livestock, game and agricultural products need to be found for resale purposes.

The qualifying learner is capable of
  • Identifying sources of game, livestock and agricultural products
  • Analysing profiles of sources of game, livestock and agricultural products
  • Building and developing a sellers database 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    It is assumed that learners accessing this Unit Standard will be competent in Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 2. 

    UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
  • Auction products will include game, livestock and agricultural products
  • Livestock species will include cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, fish and equine
  • Game will include antelope, zebra, buffalo, wildebeest, elephant, rhinos, hippo, warthog, carnivores, ungulates, very large mammals and small mammals
  • Agricultural products will include maize, wheat, vegetables, fruit, flowers herbs, bulbs, seeds, wool, mohair, carcasses, cured hides and skins
