    Read and interpret appropriate forestry maps. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    Contour lines are interpreted and explained in accordance with Industry standards. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
  • Elevation.
  • slope (direction, gradient, concave, convex, constant).
  • topography (mountainous, flat, undulating).
     

  • ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Horizontal distances are calculated and explained using the appropriate map scales.

  • 1:500 to 1:50,000 metres.
     

  • ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Map symbols are interpreted and explained in accordance with Industry standards.
