PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The skills, values and knowledge reflected in this unit standard are required for the people in the field of autotronics.

The learning outcomes of this unit standard also contribute to the exit levels outcomes required for the autotronics NQF 2 level qualification.

Qualifying learners are able to build auto electrical circuits from circuit diagrams, work instructions in accordance with established procedures.

    Read and interpret basic auto electrical circuit diagrams 
    OUTCOME RANGE 
    Circuits include lighting circuits (interior lighting, park and headlight circuits, indicator, hazard, instrumentation illumination), fan, horn and wiper circuits, protection circuits and related circuit symbols, including the common grounded circuit.

    Tools include screwdrivers, wire-strippers, long nose pliers, side cutters, crimpers, soldering iron and cable knife.

    Test equipment includes continuity testers, multi-meters, probes and test lamps.
