Purpose:

This Unit Standard is aimed at individuals operating in the Wholesale and Retail sector who are required to understand and maintain product information and changes to product information so as to ensure currency of information in support of the effective operation of a Wholesale and Retail business.

On achievement of this Unit Standard the learner will be able to:
  • Explain sources of notice of change to product information in a Wholesale and Retail business.
  • Explain requirements for changing product information in the organisation.
  • Change information of stock.

    Methods to handle a change to the product information of stock on hand are explained in accordance with organisational policy and instructions.

    Methods to handle a change to the product information of outstanding orders are explained in accordance with organisational policy and instructions. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Methods to handle a change to the product information of stock currently being picked are explained in accordance with organisational policy and instructions.

    The timing requirements for updating organisational systems for the different types of product changes are explained in accordance with organisational policy and instructions.

    Changes to product information of stock is updated as it applies to own area of operation.

  • An individual wishing to be assessed against the unit standard (including through (RPL) Recognation of Prior Learning) may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant Education and Training Quality Assurance body (ETQA), or one with an appropriate memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the relevant ETQA.
