This Unit Standard is for anyone who has to pop maize kernels for the manufacturing of popcorn in a snacks manufacturing environment. A person credited with this Unit Standard is able to:
  • Demonstrate an understanding of popping maize kernels.
  • Prepare to pop maize kernels.
  • Pop maize kernels prior to further processing.
  • Perform activities after popping of maize kernels.
