PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard is able to make appointments to clients, receiving clients and create a relaxed environment while caring for their clients needs and consult with clients in a professional manner while analysing the treatment area.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Receiving clients and establishing a relaxed relationship while caring for client's needs
  • Receiving and dealing with appointments
  • Consulting with clients in a professional manner whilst analysing the treatment area
  • Reflecting on own practice in the workplace and identify the underlying value relating to people how have a disability 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Learners accessing this qualification will have demonstrated competence against unit standards in mathematical, computer, numerical and communication studies at NQF Level 2 or equivalent. 

    UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
    A client record card includes client's personal details, contact details, lifestyle, medical information in accordance with organisational requirements.

    Receive clients and establishing a relaxed relationship while caring for client's needs. 
    OUTCOME NOTES 
    Consult with the client in a professional manner and analyse the hair and scalp to determine the appropriate procedure for the specified service.

    A professional appearance is projected at all times.

    Clients are acknowledged and greeted in a polite and friendly manner and Introductions are made to the client.

    The client's requirements are determined by questioning the client.

    The client is assisted to remove appropriate clothing where required and jewellery, parcels and packages are recorded and safely stored away if required.

    Estimated time required for each service is conveyed to the client.
