PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This Unit Standard is intended for people who are, or who wish to be employed in the Breakbulk function of an airfreight forwarding operation.

Individuals who are credited with this Unit Standard will demonstrate the ability to co- ordinate the processing of import airfreight consolidations for the purposes of deconsolidating and releasing cargo.

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
The specific outcomes as reflected in this unit standard are performed in a structured work context with minimal supervision, that allows for learners to operate under self-direction and take full responsibility for all expected outcomes.

1. Transfer consolidations from airline Bond Stores to agents` off airport licensed unpack facilities
2. Bring to account overseas and local collect charges
3. Release shipments from own groupage containers and secure release of consignments from third party groupage operators.
4. Process acquittals and claims according to organisational and legislative procedures, and within prescribed time periods.
