PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This Unit Standard is intended for people who work in the public sector at the practitioner level. Persons credited with this Unit Standard are able to use the opportunities to improve own performance provided by the employer.

    1. Current performance is compared against expected performance requirements and the recorded results are complete, concise, and in the agreed format.

    2. Development opportunities to improve own performance are identified in consultation with all relevant parties within scheduled timeframe.

    3. Opportunities for development, outside of current role, that meet personal and individual goals and objectives are identified to facilitate personal growth.

    1. A personal skills needs analysis is done by the learner to determine what skills development is required.

    3. Development plan is completed in the required format.

    1. Development activities are implemented in accordance with plan, with variations from plan identified and addressed within scheduled timeframe.

    2. Individuals involved in the implementation of the plan are consulted with, and feedback sought on the effectiveness of development activities.

    1. The purpose of a development or performance appraisal or review is explained from the learner`s perspective.

    2. A performance appraisal of the learner`s work is participated in with supervisor in a positive way.

    3. Ways to improve performance are agreed upon together with time frames for implementation.

    4. Improvement action plan is implemented as agreed to. 


    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
    Accreditation for this Unit Standard shall be obtained from the relevant Education and Training Quality Assurance Body, through summative and formative assessment by a registered assessor.
  • Assessors must be registered as an Assessor with the relevant ETQA.
  • Moderators must be registered as assessors with the relevant ETQA, or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Agreement with the relevant ETQA.
  • Training providers must be accredited by the relevant ETQA.

    Moderation should include both internal and external moderation where applicable.
