PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This Unit Standard is for people who have to process banking transaction record reports.

Persons credited with this Unit Standard will be able to:
  • Identify the items that need to be checked
  • Scrutinise the accuracy of capturing
  • And resolve any discrepancies.

    UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
  • Transactions appearing on the transaction record are amounts of transactions, transactions to certain accounts.
  • Vouchers are sorted in accordance with amounts, date, debits and credits.
  • The selected vouchers are ticked off by account number, name, account, serial numbers, VAT codes, special capturing references, number of vouchers.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    Transactions appearing on the transaction record report and needing to be checked, are identified according to the bank's guidelines. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The presence of all necessary vouchers is checked according to the bank's procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Vouchers are sorted in accordance with the bank's procedures. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Scrutinise the accuracy of capturing.

    The selected vouchers are ticked off as required by the bank's procedures.

    Discrepancies are identified and the errors are annotated as required by the bank.

    System generated entries are validated in accordance with the bank's procedures.

    Resolve discrepancies.

    Discrepancies are investigated according to the bank's procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Corrective measures are determined according to the discrepancy identified and as required by the bank. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Reports with corrective instructions are annotated as required by the bank. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    The transaction record report and vouchers are returned to the relevant department as required by the bank's procedures 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
    The corrective action taken is checked for compliance with the bank's requirements

    Sign off the report.

    All necessary documentation is attached as required by the bank.

    The report and vouchers are passed on for further scrutiny in accordance with the bank's procedures.

    1. Anyone assessing a learner against this Unit Standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA, or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA

    2. Any institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this Unit Standard or assessing this Unit Standard must be accredited as a provider with the relevant ETQA, or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.

    3. Moderation of assessment will be overseen by the relevant ETQA according to the moderation guidelines in the relevant qualification and the agreed ETQA procedures.
