  • Test a computer program using an OOP language in a GUI environment
    The performance of all elements is to a standard that allows for further learning in this area.

  • ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The demonstration differentiates between types of Windows and their relationships. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Includes, but is not limited to: Modal and non-Modal, MDI and SDI
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The demonstration includes the use of various GUI features. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Includes, but is not limited to: Dialog boxes; Icons; Toolbars; Status Bars; Menus, Custom Controls (Eg. Grid Control; Calendar Control; etc.), List/ Tree View, Properties of controls - (At least two GUI features must be covered)
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The demonstration includes a description of current developments in GUI environments that outlines the features of those developments. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Compare a GUI environment with a text-based environment.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The comparison identifies the differences between GUI and text-based environments. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Includes, but is not limited to: Dialog boxes; Icons; Timers; Mouse events; Toolbars; Status Bars; Menus. (At least two GUI feature must be covered)
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The demonstration includes decisions on the use of a GUI environment for given situations that are justified by describing the advantages and disadvantages of the environment. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3 
    Write a computer program using an OOP language in a GUI environment.

    GUI Object libraries. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The writing ensures that the program code implements the program design. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The writing ensures that the program code does not duplicate objects from available object libraries. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The writing ensures that, in the case where an object is not available for a particular GUI requirement, the programs use the application programming interface (API) for the GUI. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    The concept of using the GUI API rather than low level interrupt calls must be demonstarted

    The writing ensures that the development includes objects that exhibit polymorphic behaviour.
