The person credited with this Unit Standard will have a basic knowledge of how the various components of the ERP system fit together to form a complete information solution and will know how to apply them .

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Demonstrating a basic knowledge of the different modules that make up an ERP system.
  • Navigating seamlessly within an ERP system.
  • Providing an explanation of the system architecture that supports an ERP system.
  • Explaining the benefits of implementing a real-time ERP system.

    Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the different modules that make up an ERP system.

    An overview of the ERP system and its modules are represented diagrammatically. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The broad functions of all the different modules of a particular ERP solution are described in writing. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The system overview of an ERP system is understood and is communicated to others orally. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Practical examples of the application of specific modules in an ERP solution are given using examples from existing client implementations.

    Navigate seamlessly within an ERP system.

    The rationale for implementing the ERP system is understood and communicated to others. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The advantages of an ERP system are communicated using a presentation. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The motivation and cost/benefit analysis for an ERP implementation is produced in a written document or a presentation. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    A case study demonstrating the benefits of implementing a real-time ERP system is produced in writing. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
    A case study of a failed ERP installation is documented highlighting the reasons for failure and what preventative measures could have been applied. 


    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
  • An individual wishing to be assessed (including through RPL) against this Unit Standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA, or by an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this Unit Standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA, or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Any institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this Unit Standard or assessing this Unit Standard must be accredited as a provider with the relevant ETQA.
