PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard is able to identify and implement security measures within their working environment and maintain their own working areas according to the company standards. Learners are also able to create a presentable working environment that meets company standards that contribute to the professionalism of the company.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Implementing security measures in the working environment.
  • Responding to emergency situations.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working area.
  • Creating a presentable work area. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Learners accessing this qualification will have demonstrated competence in numeracy and literacy on NQF level 2 or equivalent. 

    UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
  • Access and movement policies could include but are not limited to: locking of doors, access cards, entry permits/documentation, security gates etc.
  • High risk products could include but are not limited to: small moveable items, high cash value items, etc.
  • Housekeeping will include but is not limited to: washing, polishing, vacuuming, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, emptying bins, replacing dead flowers etc.
  • Working area décor regulations and policies include but are not limited to colour scheme, decorations, personal effects etc.
