PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Learners working towards this standard will be learning towards the full qualification, or will be involved in or working within a cleaning services environment. Qualifying learners will be able to clean the inside of a vehicle. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
The learner has the speaking and listening ability equal to an ABET Level 1 Com 101 standard and/or any other communication skill that will enable him/her to confirm the knowledge and skills required by this unit standard. 

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
1. The scope of this unit standard is for any person who needs to clean the interior of a vehicle.
2. In the context of this unit standard a vehicle is any type of passenger car minibus or light commercial vehicle
3. The level assigned to this unit standard is appropriate because the process is limited in range, very repetitive and familiar, limited generation of new ideas are needed and the person has no responsibility for the learning of others.

1. Assessment criteria marked with are assessed according to worksite procedures.
2. Surfaces in a vehicle can include, but are not limited to the seating, carpets, dashboard, door panels, lighting and windows.
3. Chemicals refer to detergents used to remove light soil, stubborn marks, clean glass, fabric and various other types of materials.
4. Soil and marks refer to but is not limited to dirt, stains, grit, discarded wrappers, waste paper ash and cigarette stubs.
5. Dedicated chemicals, consumables and equipment refer to but are not limited to detergents, sponges, brushes, cloths, spray bottles and vacuum equipment.
6. Vehicle refers to a car minibus or light commercial vehicle.
7. Finishing the interior includes but is not limited to repositioning seats, resetting the rear view mirror, spraying air-freshener, replacing customer property, etc.
