PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This standard is in the core category of the NQF Level 5 National Diploma in CTFL Mechanician Processes. Learners who are assessed competent with this unit standard are able to identify and respond to areas affecting employer/employee relationships and consult with parties within the CTFL industry thereby contributing to stability and peace. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
Learners will have attained the National Certificate in CTFL Mechanician Processes at NQF Level 4 or equivalent qualification. 

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
This standard applies to relationships as they affect work at shop floor level.
  • Includes interventions at various levels of the organisation.
  • Excludes any specialist IR interventions required.
  • This standard applies to processes involving the manufacturing of clothing, textiles, footwear and leather products.

    Effectiveness of employer / employee practices are evaluated against industry or company norms, and applicable legislation.

    Analysis of relations' indicators is correctly carried out according to acceptable methods and appropriate action taken.

    Interventions to overcome weaknesses in relations are identified. Interventions must be in line with accepted I R practices, and legislation.

    Success of intervention on the overall climate is measured against specified criteria using accepted relations indicators.

    Situations affecting relations are responded to by means of interventions as per point 3 above.
