    The principles underpinning standards on counter disaster strategies for records and recordkeeping in the public sector are identified and discussed to inform government readiness.

    Different disaster management policies are related to the typically associated disaster and the implications of the policy explained.

    Issues and processes for government readiness to prepare communities for disasters are identified and discussed.

    Case studies are analysed within the context of disaster policies, politics, disaster methodologies utilised, and effects on overall socio-economic status.
