PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The learner credited with this unit standard will be able to assemble and fit small steelwork to OHTE steel structures safely and efficiently, under isolated and earthed conditions thus contributing to the safe running of electric trains, as well as ensuring the continuity of power supply in the rail sector.

Successful learners may be certified by the Rail authorities as competent to assemble and fit small steelwork on overhead steel structures under isolated and earthed conditions.

    Tools, equipment and material are obtained and verified for correctness.
