    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The required personal protective equipment is obtained and checked for functionality and use in accordance with its design is explained. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The measuring equipment is examined and calibrated, defects found are dealt with and these actions are explained. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Permission to enter the working place is obtained and the consequences of entering a workplace without obtaining permission are explained. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    The location where measurements are to be taken is examined for hazards and risks and any present are dealt with accordingly. The importance of the selection of the location, examination and dealing with hazards and risks are explained in terms of the consequences to health and safety.

    The planning is performed in such a manner that fosters teamwork and avoids conflict.

    Conduct routine monitoring and recommend appropriate remedial action.

    The air velocity is determined and recorded and its importance explained.

    The cross sectional area of the measuring position is determined and recorded and its importance explained.

    The volume flow rate is calculated and recorded and the need for calculation and recording the information is explained.

    The fan differential pressure is measured and recorded and the importance of these actions explained.

    The psychrometric properties are measured and recorded and their importance explained.

    The visual inspection of the fan installation is performed.

    Reports are completed accurately in the required format, and submitted to designated personnel on time.
