PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The skills, values and knowledge reflected in this unit standard are required by people in the field of autotronics.

The learning outcomes in this unit standard also contribute to the exit level outcomes required for the autotronics NQF level 5 qualification.

Qualifying learners can diagnose and repair vehicle stability, traction and drive control (VSTDC) systems on an automobile.

ABS components include wheel speed sensors, ECU, hydraulic pressure modulator with solenoid valves, hydraulic pressure modulator with integrated ECU.

ABS/TSC components include ABS/TSC ECU, Motronic ECU, electronic throttle control ECU, ABS hydraulic pressure modulator, wheel sensors.

ETC components include transmission output shaft speed sensor, engine load/speed selector lever, kick down switch, hydraulic actuators, ECU.

EPC components include YAW sensor, lateral acceleration sensor, steering wheel angle sensor, primary pressure sensor, wheel speed sensors, ESP ECU, hydraulic modulator, engine management ECU, ignition angle, fuel injectors, throttle valve for ETC.
