PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard enables candidates to plan, establish and manage a local community support structure or project in a manner which is systematic and informed by the basic principles of development practices, thus contributing to the
development aspect of ETD/ABET work. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
Core ABET Practitioner Unit Standard (5.05) Conduct research and liaison relevant to the learning situation, or an equivalent from another ETD qualification. 

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
The type of community resource project referred to can be local, small scale and limited in its focus, e.g. a school governing body, community police forum, self-help group.

UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
Any institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this unit standard must be accredited as a provider through the relevant ETQA by SAQA.
Moderation of assessment will be overseen by the relevant ETQA according to the moderation guidelines in the relevant qualification and the agreed ETQA procedures.
