PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard forms part of the qualification National Certificate in Real Estate, registered at Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework. Learners working towards this standard will be learning towards the full qualification, or will be working within a Property Environment, specialising in either Property Management or Estate Agency Sales or Rental, where the acquisition of competence against this standard will add value to their understanding of the sector and functioning in the workplace. This standard will also add value to learners who are starting or working in their own Property and/or Real Estate business.

The purpose of this standard is for learners to develop the broader perspective necessary for efficient management, co-ordination and implementation of administration within the real estate environment.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Managing client/ tenant records to required quality of the organisation.
  • Co-ordinating activities in debtors department to enhance financial operating performance.
  • Identifying, planning and implementing IT policies, systems and plans for management approval.
  • Managing the implementation of approved property administrative systems and policies.
  • Liasing with tenants, business providers and other role players in the real estate industry. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Learners accessing this qualification will have demonstrated competence in the standards of the National Certificate in Property Practice at NQF Level 4 or equivalent.

    Administrative systems and policies include debtors, tenants, employees, IT system, payment, client information and collections and property projects such as property development.
