PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard forms part of the qualification National Certificate in Real Estate, registered at Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework. Learners working towards this standard will be learning towards the full qualification, or will be working within a Property Environment, specialising in Property Management where the acquisition of competence against this standard will add value to their understanding of the sector and functioning in the workplace. This standard will also add value to learners who are starting or working in their own Property and/or Real Estate business.

The purpose of this standard is to provide learners the opportunity to develop a practical understanding of the considerations and actions required to evaluate, maintain and improve the performance of a property portfolio.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Analysing and organising financial information with regard to viability/ performance of property portfolio.
  • Gathering and collating additional information regarding viability and performance.
  • Comparing and assessing performing data.
  • Formulating and recommending remedial actions. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Learners accessing this qualification will have demonstrated competence in the standards of the National Certificate in Property Practice at NQF Level 4, specialising in Property Management, or equivalent. They must also be able to communicate in English and apply financial and accounting practices to the equivalent of NQF Level 5.
