PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard will enable managers to implement legislation within a particular environment or organisation. The skills, knowledge and understanding demonstrated within this unit standard are essential for social and economic transformation and upliftment for ensuring adherence to legislation. South Africa as a country relies heavily on the democracy and legal prescripts in terms of its governance and therefore care should be taken not just to support legislation, but also to actively participate in the implementation of legislation as underpinned by a democratic society.

A person credited with this unit standard is able to:
  • Identify, interpret and analyse legislation.
  • Align work related matters to legislation.
  • Manage the implementation of an operational plan.

    The achievement of this unit standard will contribute to the full development of any learner within the safety in society environment and more specifically within the policing discipline by providing recognition, further mobility and transportability within the field.
