PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Learners credited with this unit standard will be able to:
  • Assess the needs of clients.
  • Develop extension solutions.
  • Plan extension interventions.
  • Implement extension plans.

    This unit standard will contribute to the qualitative development of learners by providing progression to this NQF level within the extension environment. Recognition, further mobility and transportability within the development field are accommodated for. The skills, knowledge and understanding demonstrated within this unit standard are essential for social and economic transformation and development within the development sector. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
  • It is assumed that learners accessing this unit standard will have demonstrated competence in communicating verbally and in writing at Level 4 on the NQF or equivalent.
  • It is also assumed that learners should display the following knowledge and skills:

    The implementation of extension plan is executed according to the planned intervention.

    The extension plan is coordinated and monitored in accordance with work plan priorities to evaluate and ensure progress.

    The plan is evaluated against goals and objectives through progress reports to assess the effectiveness and successfulness of the extension plan.

    The extension plan implemented is reviewed and lessons learnt recorded for future reference.
