This unit standard will be useful for people who are pursuing a career in Rock Engineering.

This unit standard is intended to promote general skills and understanding of the code of practice to address rockfall and rockburst accidents in the mining and minerals sector in order to ensure knowledgeable and informed workers.

    The aim of the compilation of information chapters into the document is explained in terms of legal and operational requirements.

  • Knowledge of local geology (stratigraphy).
  • Knowledge of local mining environment (seismic character, hydrology, reefs).
