The visual features that all the items of jewellery in the set must share are determined with reference to the catalogue and the customer's brief.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
The materials that the set of jewellery must be made from are determined and agreed with the customer.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
The cost of the set of jewellery is determined based on the customer`s requirements.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4
Alternative materials that may be used to provide a similar appearance to the customer's requirements at a different cost are identified and described to the customer in terms of the benefits and disadvantages.

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3
Generate and provide a design solution.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
A range of suggested designs is generated in line with the customer's preferences.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
The customer's preferred design is established by consultation and in terms of design standards.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
Consultation takes place with a goldsmith to establish the feasibility of producing the selected set of jewellery in accordance with jewellery manufacturing standards.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4
A rendering of the agreed jewellery set is completed in terms of the design solution.

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 4
Produce a technical drawing to facilitate production.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
Preferred drawing and design media are selected and ensured to be ready for use prior to drawing the jewellery design.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
The technical drawing accurately captures the design specifications and technical requirements.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
The consequences of not adhering to correct design practices, housekeeping and safe working practices are described in terms of the potential impact on safety and quality.
