PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This Unit Standard is intended for learners who are clerks of the civil court appointed to perform the functions and duties to grant default judgements. It will develop the competencies required in considering the requirements necessary to grant default judgements based on liquidated amounts in terms of Rule 12 of the Magistrate Court Act 32 of 1944.
