    The reasons for ventilating a working place are explained in terms of workplace requirements. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The airflow requirements in a working place are explained. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Methods of identifying failure in ventilation in the workplace are explained in terms of consequences to occupational health, safety and production. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Describe the methods of controlling ventilation in a working place. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The methods of controlling ventilation in a working place are described in terms of specified requirements. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Controlling methods must include: Doors, Walls, Regulators, Brattices, Vent curtains.

    Definitions regarding controlling methods in a working place are explained in terms of specified requirements.

    The controlling methods of airflow in a work place are explained.

    Describe the basic effects on workers when exposed to sub standard ventilation conditions. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The effects that sub standard ventilation conditions have on the safety; occupational health and productivity of workers are explained. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Must include: Accumulation of gases, High dust concentrations, abnormal thermal conditions, Oxygen deficiency.
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The action to be taken, when ventilation control is not effective, is explained. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The importance of taking appropriate action when ventilation control is not effective is explained in terms of consequences to occupational health, safety and production.

  • Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant QCTO Quality Assurance Partner (QAP).
  • Any institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this unit standard must be accredited as a provider through the relevant QCTO QAP.
