PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is intended for people who are responsible to ensure that safety and security procedures are adhered to during the opening, operating and closing of the branch. Persons credited with this unit standard will be able to identify and monitor physical security during the opening, operating and closing of the branch, maintain and monitor security equipment, identify and implement procedures to minimise physical security risks. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
Persons attempting this unit standard should have knowledge of physical security risk aspects and an in depth understanding of Banking Operations.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1 
Identify and monitor physical security risks when opening, operating and closing the branch. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
8. External environment activities are monitored regularly to ensure early detection of any irregularities. 
ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
Irregular activities include but are not limited to riots, strikes, construction, suspicious people.
 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
1. The branch is opened and closed under dual control as per company specific requirements. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
2. All internal and external entrance and exits are checked daily to ensure early detection of possible security risks.

3. The premises is searched and secured by the security guard, before allowing access to staff when opening the branch in the morning.

4. Entrance and exit to the branch is always conducted through the front doors of the branch as per company specific requirements.

5. Utilisation of the security guard is monitored on a regular basis to ensure safeguarding of the branch as per company specific requirements.

6. All persons requiring access to the branch are scanned as per company specific requirements.

1. Bi-lock access doors are permanently functional during business hours as per company specific requirements.

2. Panic buttons are easily accessed in the event of an emergency according to company specific requirements.

3. Security CCTV cameras are correctly positioned on possible security risk areas as per company specific requirements. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
4. All CCTV camera videotapes are regularly changed and stored as per company specific requirements. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
5. All staff are trained in the operating procedures of security equipment as per company specific requirements. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 6 
6. All serviceable security equipment is checked on a daily basis to ensure correct working order as per company specific requirements.

7. Defaults on serviceable security equipment are immediately reported as per company specific requirements.

UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
1. Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA.

2. Any institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this unit standard or assessing this unit standard must be accredited as a provider with the relevant ETQA.

3. Moderation of assessment will be overseen by the relevant ETQA according to the moderation guidelines in the relevant qualification and the agreed ETQA procedures.

Therefore anyone wishing to be assessed against this unit standard may apply to be assessed by any assessment agency, assessor or provider institution which is accredited by the relevant ETQA.

    The learner is able to identify and solve problems when managing physical security risks during branch operations, ensuring all possible areas of risk are identified and monitored to minimise potential losses. 

    UNIT STANDARD CCFO WORKING 
    The learner is able to work effectively with others by reporting defaults on serviceable security equipment promptly to relevant authority, ensuring correct working order at all times. 

    UNIT STANDARD CCFO ORGANISING 
    The learner is able to organise and manage his/her own activities to allow sufficient time for regular changing and checking of CCTV cameras, to ensure that all possible irregular activities can be detected and actioned promptly. 

    UNIT STANDARD CCFO COLLECTING 
    The learner is able to collect, Analyse, organise and critically evaluate information related to contractual agreements with security companies, ensuring all possible diversions can be rectified to minimise potential security breaches. 

    UNIT STANDARD CCFO COMMUNICATING 
    The learner is able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing when straining staff in the operating procedures of security equipment, ensuring human error is minimised. 

    UNIT STANDARD CCFO SCIENCE 
    The learner is able to use science and technology effectively when maintaining and monitoring security equipment ensuring all alarm systems, CCTV cameras, panic buttons, bi-lock access doors and other electronic equipment functions optimally, thereby monitoring security risks effectively at all times.
