PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This is a core unit standard towards a National Certificate in Retail/Wholesale processes. It is optional within the core to provide relevance to those retail/wholesale outlets who operate on a credit basis. It is also designed to bring credit procedures into line with those outlets considered to be globally competitive 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
Basic spoken English or other appropriate language to the equivalent of NQF 1. Computer literacy on basic data capturing. Accounting principles of debit and credit at NQF 1 equivalent.
