PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit is a core standard towards a National Certificate in retail/wholesale processes at NQF Level 2. It is aimed at opening access by allowing entrants to gain a rapid insight into the industry, thereby embedding competence which will allow retailers/wholesalers to be more competitive

English verbal communication at ABET Level 4, arithmetic functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division 

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
  • Stakeholders will include the various types of employers, employee groupings, suppliers and customers?

    Terms and concepts will include those relevant to receiving and distributing stock, displaying and marking merchandise, categories for different ranges of merchandise, cash and credit payment terms,?

    Sub-sectors of the industry will include clothing, textiles and footwear, furniture and appliances, consumables and food products
