PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Draw up and manage his/her own personal budget as well as the budget for a medium size
company.

Managing basic personal finance. 

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
Should receive a grant, salary, bursary or wage. Have access to own money. Should be able to discuss and propose a budget to a person successful in industry. Should understand concepts like: Price structure, cost control, cost estimation, inflation, escalation, overheads, exchange rate, cash flow and claims.

1. All the expenses and planned expenses as well as the full time income, and where applicable part-time income of the learner is used to draw up a budget for a month.

3. A budget is drawn up for a medium size company for one year. Profit is shown at the end of the year.
