PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Carry out calculations involving the dimensions of and the velocity in ducts. Measure the static, velocity and total pressure in a duct and explain their significance. Determine the pressures and the air quantity flowing in a duct. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
Carry out multiplication and division and calculate square roots. Manipulate simple formulas.

Commonly used pressure-measuring instruments, water gauge, incline gauge, electronic instruments.
