PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
A learner credited with this unit standard will be able to wire components of an axle counter according to plans and specifications by applying signalling engineering practice. This will ensure the availability of correctly wired components of an axle counter, which contribute in part to a reliable railway signalling system, safe and efficient train operations and effective rail transportation.

    Plan and procure the resources required to perform the wiring of components of an axle counter safely and according to plan and specifications

    UNIT STANDARD NOTES 
    Until 7 April 2005, this unit standard was incorrectly recorded as "Wire components of a remote control system". SAQA apologises for the inconvenience caused by this.
