PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This Unit Standard is useful for learners who will be working within a Public Sector, Local Government, commercial or community environment, and will fulfill a leadership role as part of their job. This Unit Standard will also add value to public officials who are seeking to develop a career pathway towards an accomplished integrated development planner or public sector management and administration specialist.

The qualifying learner is capable of:

    Knowledge Management applications include but are not limited to community needs analyses, establishing networking links for effective service delivery, defining levels of authority and roleplayers that may contribute to the success of local government leadership projects, community statistics for decision-making relating to community profiles, best practice benchmarks for monitoring and review processes, resource accessibility and availability, skills and knowledge transfer to enhance service delivery, minimising the duplication of effort across different departments and spheres of government, a recording of issues pertaining to service delivery and how problems were addressed.
