PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard has as its core purpose, qualifying learners who will demonstrate and understanding of international law and its implications in agency work.

The learner will be able to evaluate the implications of important international treaties and how these treaties impact on the relations of South Africa with other nations.

The qualifying learner will be able to:
  • Analyse the rules governing international law.
  • Explain the role of the United Nations and its Charter.
  • Define and explain the concept of the Community of Nations.
  • Analyse the law of intervention and its implications.
  • Identify the role of important monetary and trade organizations.
