    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
    1. Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA.

    2. Any institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this unit standard must be registered with the FE/HE Registrar.

    3. Any institution wishing to receive skill development grants must be accredited with the relevant ETQA. Such an institution will also be registered with the relevant SETA.

    Learning / Curriculum
  • This unit deals with the skills and knowledge required to manage one`s own development within any relevant context.
  • Learning should include research on available development activities (internal and external) within the organisation.
  • The learner must know how to write up a development plan with realistic, measurable goals and objectives.
  • The learner must understand the importance of development plans. Special emphasis should be placed on the review of development plans as well as getting feedback from other relevant people within the organisation.
  • Learner could evaluate and document own skills.
  • Learner could document development activities relevant to the learner`s current position.
  • Learner could formulate a development plan based on the above information. The learner should implement this plan over a period of time. All feedback should be documented together with reviews and updates of the development plan.
  • A portfolio of evidence could be collected of the exercises and project that have been completed. Testimony from other managers/ supervisors would be relevant together with any records of achievement. This unit should be assessed over a period of time so that issues of ongoing implementation and monitoring can be addressed.
